UC DAVIS의 저명한 내과교수인 Lynelle Johnson의 개, 고양이 호흡기질환 관련서적입니다. 작은 분량이지만 충분하고 깊은 내용을 수록하고 있읍니다

 

항상 접하고 있지만 좀 더 깊이 있는 진료에 도움이 될 수 있는 내용을 중심으로 수록하였으며 질병의 국소화부터 시작합니다.

기본적인, 또 전문적인 검사법에 대한 이해가 쉽도록 사진과 함께 검사법이 설명되어 있는 부분이 많으며 (예를 들어 Tracheal wash는 Transoral과 Transtracheal의 방법이 모두 다루어지고 있읍니다) 수록된 검사법은 아래를 참조하세요

챕터3의 치료법 부분에선 상부/하부 호흡기별 1차 선택항생제의 가이드라인부터 항진균, 항바이러스제의 사용, Glucocorticoids의 사용 뿐 아니라 Bronchodilator, Mucolytics, Antitussive Agents, 등 호흡기에 사용하는 주된 약물에 대한 설명을 전반에서 다루고 있으며 후반부에서는 각 약물의 다양한 투여법(동일약물의 구강투여와 비구강투여의 비교 등)과 보조요법(Oxygen Therapy, Nutritional Therapy, Chest Tube장착등)이 설명되어 있읍니다.

 

챕터4부터는 각론으로써 비강, 기도, 실질조직, 흉막과 종격, 혈관의 질환에 대하여 각각 독립된 챕터로 풍부한 비경, 후두경, 기관내시경, CT, MRI 사진등을 통하여 다루고 있읍니다.

 

이 책은 분명 분량에 비해서는 고가인 도서입니다.

하지만 그 내용은 기본뿐 아니라 심화된 호흡기질환에 있어서의 접근 및 검사, 치료법을 충분히 다루고 있어 개, 고양이의 호흡기질환에 관심이 있으신 임상가들에게 많은 도움이 되리라 생각합니다.
